Prof. Lowenberg-DeBoer holds the Elizabeth Creak Chair in Agri-Tech Applied Economics at Harper Adams University, Newport, Shropshire, UK. He is president-elect of the International Society of Precision Agriculture (ISPA) and co-editor of the journal Precision Agriculture. His research focuses on the economics of agricultural technology, especially precision agriculture. He has published 85 articles in refereed journals, two books and chapters in eight other books. Lowenberg-DeBoer’s research and outreach is founded in hands-on experience in agriculture. He farmed in Iowa in the 1970s producing maize, lamb, wool, and alfalfa. He owns and manages 300 hectares of Iowa corn and soybean land.
Prof.Bruno TISSEYRE was graduated Doctor in “Agronomy” in 1996 at Montpellier SupAgro (NationalInstitute for Higher Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources) and entered Montpellier SupAgroasassistant professor in 1996. In 2003, he spent a sabbatical at the university of Sydney (Australian centrefor precision agriculture). In 2012, he was graduated at the highest degree (Habilitation a diriger lesrecherches) at Montpellier SupAgro. He extended his research on precision viticulture (PV)He initiatedandledvariousresearch projectsinthe field of PV, bothat European levelandnational level,withacademic partnersas well as with private companies.These projectsfocused onresearch questionsrelated tothe development of methods:i)for spatial data fusion,ii) to characterizethe spatial variabilityand to assess the ability to manage the within field variability (Opportunity index of Site specificmanagement),iii) for spatial extrapolation (mainly applied to the vine water status). In remote sensing,the research led to release aremote sensing commercial service specifically dedicated to viticulture(Oenoview) in collaboration with ICV (Institut cooperative du vin) and Astrium.He now leads theconsortium AgroTIC Consortium which gathers 24 companies on digital agricultureand thedigitalMediterranean farm (Mas numérique), a living laboratory on applied digital viticulture which gathers15companies on a samevineyard estate.
